lately

these days lately have been busy and sweet. adam has been sleeping at the hospital after his shifts instead of coming home to nap in our noisy house with little people who desperately want to cuddle him awake. so far, he has been able to get enough sleep in the mornings to pretty much enjoy entire afternoons with us. i miss one-on-one conversations with him, but i'm so thankful that he is thus far relatively rested and staying connected with us. with evenings and mornings for me to completely focus on the kids, i feel like we have had some precious moments together. i praise the Lord for this wild season of caring, nurturing, protecting, teaching, instructing. it is hard, messy, and tedious at times, but it really is such a privilege.

this sweet one is weaned as of yesterday. i'm a little sad about it, but thankful too.

spending lots of time shelling pecans from our old cantankerous tree. the nuts are really good, but boy are those shells thick!

marit talking to herself in the doll's pack-n-play

pax is a wonderful pillow

we love sleepers around here

playing family soccer games with the goal my dad built for graham

adam is so victorious over his pre-school opponents

always watching...he has the uncanny ability to watch everything with those sharp eyes without moving his head much.

i think he looks a lot like marit so for fun here is a close up of her eyes at a similar age
