outside in october

we are so thankful for this new month that brings cooler weather and more husband/daddy around, festivals in our city, visits from family, and FOUR birthdays in my family!

september felt dark to me with inner-turmoil and struggle, heat, and just plain tiredness. i'm thankful for the Lord's sustaining grace and care in a sort of vaguely heavy season and for reminders to find my joy and hope in Christ. season changes are such sweet reminder of God's faithfulness as He keeps the world spinning.

miles loves slides...climbing up, and sliding down on his tummy

i found a used infant bike seat and the kids and i borrowed adam's bike and we went on a bike ride. miles cried the whole time and i'm not sure if it was because i made him wear marit's outgrown pink helmet or because he could see, but not touch me. i also don't know if it is worth all the loading, helmeting, buckling, situating for a 30 minute bike ride.

tummy!

one of our city's prettiest spots:)

pax loves having his own seat in the minivan
